Pietro Adamo was born in Toronto Canada in 1955 and currently lives in Woodbridge Ontario. He attended the University of Toronto and Sheridan College in Toronto and was Professor of Art at Chaminage College.

Working from his home studio, Adamo began his career as a realist landscape painter as well as being commissioned to do portraits of prominent members of the Canadian Parliament. His work has evolved gradually towards an abstract style and was further based on his memories of places and particularly his emotions which formed part of these experiences. Adamo looks at the geometric spatial relationships of form and explores texture and colour in his work.
