Amanda Hoskin lives and works in Cornwall where the varied landscape and coastline provide a constant source of inspiration. The frequent changes in the weather and their effect on the landscape are a subject that interests Amanda deeply.

After finishing art school she became a freelance wildlife illustrator. However, while working and living in London she began to miss Cornwall and so in the early 90's she became a sailing instructor teaching mainly at Mylor on the beautiful Fal Estuary. During this time she continued to paint, changing the medium from watercolours to oils.

Her style became much freer and she began to concentrate on the changing skies and landscapes around her.
