Francois Ledan "Fanch" as he signs his work was born in France in 1945.

He began to paint in 1968 whilst studying at L'Acole Superior des Sciences Commerciales in Paris. Having abandoned commercial design for full time studies in painting and fine art, Fanch's talent was quickly recognised by critics abroad and his work was accepted by two major European exhibitions: the Salon des Artistes Francais and the Salon des Peintres.

In 1973 Fanch became involved in printmaking and his bright cheerful lithographs and screenprints have since been widely published and distributed in Europe and the United States.
