Born, Solihull in 1959, studied at Solihull College, this was followed by two intensive years study in Milan with master printmaker Oliviero Masi.

After returning to the UK, he originally set up his own etching workshop in Solihull, producing and promoting his work under the name of Capelli Printmaking Studio.

His etchings are characterised with a crayon like texture known as “soft ground”. This delicate technique combined with other etching processes help create a distinctive subtlety throughout his work.

In response to individual collectors and galleries wishing to see other works, he has recently produced several one off paintings based on his etchings.

Elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, he has quickly established a reputation among contemporary printmakers. His work is widely represented both nationally and internationally in many private collections. It also includes many commissions, one of which was presented to, and accepted by, HRH Princess Anne at Buckingham Palace. All the works are based on my original sketches and drawings, while working and travelling in Italy.
